KENYATAAN MEDIA
17 Julai 2020

MEDIA STATEMENT
17 July 2020
Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE) fully supports the motion of parliamentarians of Malaysia, to join in the calls of members of OIC, to urge the dissolutions of Israel membership from the United Nations (UN) and all her agencies.
This is a move deemed most appropriate in the light of Israeli continuous violations of UN resolutions and international laws.
Israel’s latest move to annex the Jordan Valley, after the complete took over of the East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights in 1980 and 1981 respectively, was a clear violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 242 (1967). The resolution clearly states that Israel must withdraw from Palestinian territories occupied after the 1967 war and delegitimize the acquisition of territory through military means.
Israel’s act of establishing illegal settlements in the West Bank, an entity recognised by the international community as an occupied Palestinian territory, is in contradiction of article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention. The article prohibits the transfers of the civilian population of the occupying power into the occupied territory.
The building of such illegal settlements are also in violation of a host of UN resolutions – Resolution 237 (1967), 252 (1968), 267 (1969), 271 (1969), 298 (1971), 446 (1979), 465 (1980) and 2334 (2016) of the Security Council.
For the record, Israel to date has failed in her charge to resolve her conflicts amicably with Palestine as stipulated in Article 2 of the UN Charter.
All these violations, not to mention the numerous killings, persecutions and violations of basic rights of the Palestinians call for a stern actions by the international community.
Israel should not be allowed to violate international laws with impunity.
